Jenna & Ben’s Mattaponi Springs Wedding Day

Jenna and Benjamin’s Wedding Day hosted at the Barns at Mattaponi Springs in Ruther Glen, Virginia held all the elements of a timeless, elegant, and lavender inspired wedding day focused on love and family! I loved the GORGEOUS Manor House, the beautiful scenery with the pond in the background, and their romantic ceremony site with lavender & blush florals artfully displayed.

My favorite part of their entire wedding day was getting to eat charcuterie with them for 5 minutes after their ceremony right before we started family formals. Jenna and Ben wanted to take a chill moment, which they did and then they invited me to eat charcuterie with them. And I LOVE charcuterie! I’m especially obsessed with brie cheese, which they love too! 🙂 Normally, I’m running around photographing EVERYTHING, but sometimes it’s okay to just take a few minutes and enjoy being with your couple as friends! That’s what I chose to do with them in that moment before getting back to taking pictures!

Jenna & Ben’s Love Story

Jenna & Benjamin are high school sweethearts, but some would say middle school sweethearts because they have been interested in each other since they were 14 and 17. While Jenna has a love for anything lavender (just like me) and is very smart, Ben is hilarious (Daniel had so much fun laughing with him and his groomsmen all day), loves Jenna to the moon and back, and is a very smart engineer! Now five years later, they finally said “I do!” This was the sweetest momentum to witness because of their love and faith in Jesus Christ as well as their eternal commitment to each other! You can tell they are truly best friends for life, so it was a JOY for Daniel and I (also best friends for life) to photograph best friends start their marriage journey together!

Meeting Jenna

Jenna and I first met on March 26th, 2023 at the Liberty University Bridal Expo in Lynchburg, VA. Her wedding theme was lavender and blush, so she was drawn into our booth by our lavender decor! My first impression of Jenna was that she just seemed so fun and sweet! From the start, I knew we would be a perfect fit for each other. Being her wedding photographer was just the BEST!

Meeting Ben

I got to meet Ben for the first time over a zoom call, and I remember him being very kind and also very caring towards what Jenna desired for their wedding day. When we arrived to photograph their wedding, Ben was so excited to meet Daniel and greeted him with a big smile. From this point on, we knew this would be a very fun wedding day with lots of memories and celebrations! And we are just SO EXCITED to see Jenna and Ben’s love for each other bloom over the years!
